FINANCIAL SERVICES PROVIDERS AND PROFESSIONAL TO UPDATE THEIR KNOWLEDGE BASE
Currently, the economies of some western countries have spiraled out of control fuelling various austerity measures, financial bailouts and debt repayment rescheduling, all aimed at keeping the ever increasing financial challenges under control. The collapse and nationalization of blue chip financial services organizations amidst series of protests in countries such as Greece, the UK, and Italy just to mention a few cannot be overemphasized. Albeit a plague of other issues confront the African continent, national governments and corporate organizations, it has become necessary for a sustained promotion of financial education and literacy through partnership and co-operation in and across the continent.
At Financial Education Partnership (FEP) International, we committed to promoting financial education and literacy through partnership and co-operation in and across Africa. In keeping with this vision of creating financially responsible communities and making financial education accessible in Africa, we are organizing capacity building workshops for financial services professionals. The workshops will be on Professionalism and Ethics and Credit Risk Policy and the Credit Risk Management for Financial Institutions. Both workshops will be held at Cleaver House, Barnes Road between the Tigo Head Office and Databank Head Office in Accra.
The first one on Professionalism and Ethics comes off on the 11th and 12th October, 2011 with the second one on Credit Risk Policy and Credit Risk Management for Financial Institutions slated for the 18th and 19th October, 2011.
While the Professionalism and Ethics workshop is aimed at equipping practicing professionals with the skills necessary to enable them make ethical choices when confronted with practical ethical dilemmas, the credit risk policy and credit risk management for financial institutions workshop is geared towards minimizing the risk financial services organizations face when implementing credit risk policies within the broader framework of risk governance.
